Come join us at The Spokesman while we listen to Geoff Drake and Mark Johnson share the exciting tales of the early days of American racing in Europe as well as the modern Euro racing scene. These two authors have been keeping audiences at the edge of their seat with their thrilling and humorous stories.

More than a book about racing, Argyle Armada is a portrait of life as a member of a pro cycling team during a time of painful transition for the sport. Johnson unveils the dramatic forces that Garmin-Cervélo must navigate as team founder Jonathan Vaughters tries to push forward his vision of a reformed sport. Girls Ride Day

To all the ladies out there, mark your calendars for Women’s Ride Day on March 18th! This will be an awesome ride Specialized and The Spokesman will be hosting to encourage more women to ride. I will be leading a road ride around Santa Cruz inviting women of all levels of experience to come enjoy a fun time. This will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and learn about new roads too…

Winter Training Camp for Development Team

Just finished a fantastic Winter training camp with the Ritte/Castelli/Spokesman development team.
Stu Bone is creating an amateur team the likes of which I’ve never seen!

Extremely well organized event, this team is going to rock N. Cal racing this season!!

Jesse Stensland of “MovementU” and I worked last years HTC Winter training camp. She was in the fitness lab assessing riders strengths and weaknesses and assigning them workouts. I was in the fitting lab working with a team of fitters dialing the riders in on their new bikes.
The crazy thing is that these 15-19 year olds had a very similar training camp experience to the HTC camp.
Riding, eating, sitting through lectures, One on one meetings with coaching (Ben Jaques Maynes) staff, sessions with Jessi and I. Individual and group goal setting, whew!

I’m really excited to see how these guys
Do this year.

Travis Moore’s Comprehensive Maintenance Classes

~Travis Moore is taking reservations for his comprehensive Maintenance Classes. It’s two consecutive nights 3 1/2 hours each night and tuition includes the Park Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair
Tuition: $150

-The class is limited to 5 people maximum, which means a lot of one-on-one instruction and all questions get answered

-We cover all aspects of bicycle maintenance; including, but not limited to:

* Frame inspection
* Proper cleaning techniques
* Drivetrain removal cleaning, maintenance, and adjustment
* Brake systems cleaning, maintenance, and adjustment
* Wheel trueing, wheel bearing adjustments, etc
* Headset maintenance and adjustments
* Much more than can be listed

In-depth conversations about many arising topics.

Dates are Jan 11 and 12th, OR Feb 8th and 9th ; 6:30-10pm
